I feel very grateful to have found a flute teacher like Terry.  I had played the Native American flute for several years and was somewhat stuck in a few books and websites. After one lesson, Terry was expanding my horizons. I enrolled in a lesson package and found improvements in my breathing, phrasing, colour, timing and tonality. I was impressed by the amount of preparation that was made to personalize each lesson. I am SO VERY glad that I found Terry and connected with her to inquire about new flutes and lessons. I love that she incorporates a lesson with her when you buy a flute from her. She sold me at the moment she said she isn't your typical music teacher! I've struggled most of my life with learning music and trying to be like one of my many family musicians. Learning music never came easy and I'd generally give up the moment I got frustrated with reading music and figuring out what note and keys went together. Terry has totally helped guide me out of this frustration I pick up my flute with confidence to create what's needed in the moment. I listen to what wants to come out and I work with it. I use this instrument to transmute my emotions and feelings and to express myself. I've learned so much skill and really improved in ways I had no idea I was capable of! The other day I stood up in front of a microphone before an entire drum circle and played from the heart just what came out. A song I'd never even heard before but went with the rhythm and nature around me, I was overwhelmed in joy and applaud from those there. I give a lot of credit to Terry in the way she's guided me to this very moment in my playing. ​I want to express my gratitude for finding my way, through you , to finding and playing my flute.
I just wanted to pass on an experience I had last weekend. I was needing to get spiritually connected, so I took my dogs and my flute down to Shell Beach ( down by ladysmith, near a native reserve.)  It has been a favorite place of mine for years, and has always brought me peace. On this evening the beach was quiet, it was approaching dusk. I chose a log to sit on, and began to play.  A native mother and her four children came down to enjoy the evening as well. I continued to play for a while while to dogs played on the beach.  When I was leaving, the children told me how beautiful I sounded. The best part was the mother told me that she had had a difficult day with her children as she had newborn twins at home. She told me that the children were upset, but as soon as they heard the sound of the flute, she sensed an immediate calmness come over the children. We had a great talk about the effect of music on our moods. I mentioned that she should get a CD for her kids to play at bedtime to help calm them. 
I felt so grateful to play a part in helping these kids. It was a real spiritual awakening!! So thank you, for the part that you played!!
