More About Terry
Lots of flutes for sale
I received my first Native American Flute as a Christmas gift in 2005 and then another for a birthday shortly after that. Everywhere I went and played my flutes ( which was almost anywhere I could and anytime I could) people would stop and ask "What is that and where can we get one? This happened often enough, that my brilliant husband suggested we sell the flutes since there was no place on Vancouver Island where a person could purchase a Native American Flute and that is how it all began.
I researched as much as possible, purchased a few flutes and set out nervously to attend my first market in July of 2006 with 12 flutes for sale and hardly any idea of what to do. That night I sold one flute. Four days later I had my next event and sold 4 flutes, leaving me with a grand total of 7 flutes left with a lot more markets coming up. The interest in these wonderful instruments was exciting and inspiring. Since our first tentative steps into connecting people to the flutes we have sold over 900 flutes and helped many people find their way into their own song.
We hope to be a source of inspiration for people looking to learn more about playing the Native American Flute from the heart as it was meant to be played. Native American Flutes have enriched our lives in ways we had never imagined. I have a belief that the flutes are calling people to come together in song and harmony. I feel that when I am with fellow flute lovers anywhere, anytime.
We have made friends all over the world, traveled to flute festivals in the US and discovered the amazing generosity, compassion and warmth of people who love these flutes.
Since her first tentative steps into playing these flutes, Terry has recorded two music CD's Wild Threads and Discovering Eden, facilitates group lessons and playshops and preforms at events throughout Vancouver Island.
In 2016 Terry completed both the Leadership Program and the Certificate of Musicianship offered by Clint Goss through Flute Haven Flute Schools. IN 2021 Terry received her Certificate of Mastery through Jan Michael Looking Wolfs apprenticeship program. She was also awarded an outstanding achievement award by the Native American Flute Awards Association for Outstanding Achievement for her continuing contribution in the flute community.
Terry also creates and plays music under the name, The Wind Weaver. www.windweaver.ca Terry has released two CD's, Wild Threads and Discovering Eden. Wild Threads won a global music award in December of 2024.
